Flag Day Rally in Romeo !

Flag Day is June 14th (every year !) It is a chance to celebrate our pride and gratefulness in living in the greatest country on earth. You can show your pride by flying an American Flag everyday at you home. The 2.5 x 4.0 home mounted flags are under $20.00 at Home Depot.

This year you can also attend a Flag Day Rally sponsored by the Romeo Area Tea Party at 3:00 in downtown Romeo. It will be a flag waving celebration at the "4 corners" intersection of Main St. and St. Clair (AKA 32 mile and Van Dyke). As a veteran of the U.S. Army and a proud conservative, I ask you to please try to be there to show your love of country and support for the Tea Party movement to take back our government.

  1. Please join Brian and others as they consider setting their political partisanship aside and instead of using the patriotic day for political purposes, the group thinks about perhaps doing something real for a change, like buying flags and taking them to John Dingell Veterans hospital and thanking the patients for their service instead of standing on a corner merely trying to gain attention for the local Tea Party.

Is there anymore fitting way to Stand for the Flag than to thank those who endured harm to protect it?

Once again we ask you to tell Brian and the rest of the TEA PARTY to stop using OUR Flag for their political purposes and do the right thing.

  2. Joe the liberal calls taking our country back from Socialists like Obama, Pelosi, and Reid , "using the flag for political purposes".
I'd call it "standing up for the constitution and the intent of the founding fathers".

Obama is a Socialist, plain and simple. We will rally around the flag tomorrow and carry the momentum through 'till the elections, when we take back Congress and start to return the government to the people.

  3. Brian do you remember what the liberals do on past flag days? They burn them and pretend that they are patriotic afterwords.

  5. Chris, i was at John Dingell VA on saturday for their annual Carnival. Worked from 10 AM till 3 PM. The UAW is quite active in these things. I don't make all the trips, but we do 5 or 6 a year. I hit atleast 2 plus what our local does, which includes raffles and care packages, Stand Down and things like that.

But here, lets do this....Pick a Monday or thursday in july or august. Al, said he'd by the flags, and i'll meet you guys down there after work and we can give them to the patients. We need atleast a 150 to cover the permenent patients, and if you guys want another 50 for dialysis (they go home after treatment) and 50 for the Dom.

We can meet in the blue parking garage and go from there. I'll call and talk to Bill after you set a date. Get the whole thing going.

  6. I'm up for that Joe. It sounds like a great thing to do. I do things like this through my Church quit often. I think it would be nice to change things up a little by going to the John Dingell VA instead. A carnival sounds like a fun time. It sure beats feeding the homeless in Detroit on a Saterday in Jan. or making up care packages for the VA and service people. I am on a schedule of a few hours a week every other month. I feel blessed that I have the food and time to give these poor souls. I also give the week before Christmas to serve MCREST at my Church. Maybe we could do a quid pro quo Joe? Just let me know when and I'm sure I can get some people to help out.
